Everyday Wreath
Before I started typing this sentence I realized I was going to type "I never really liked wreaths before...." and that made me realize there have been plenty of things lately that I "never really liked" until recently! But, what the heck, I never really liked wreaths until recently! My first wreath was for October, which I may post later on. Then came my Christmas Cork wreath, which will definitely be posted shortly. Then came this wonderfully, adorable, light and refreshing wreath! I'm so in love with the way it came out and how great it compliments my house!
Materials:
Picture frame
Yarn
Wooden Letter
Paint
Wire (I Substituted more yarn for wire for my own!)
Hot glue
Ribbon
Flowers
I believe its self explanatory for the most part. And anyone crafty can figure out their own methods for this wreath. I have an addiction with hot glue, so the back of my wreath is loaded up with it!
Remove the glass and any paper frame from the wooden frame. If you’re crafty you could find other uses for the glass! You could even paint the frame if you'd like, but remember only a small portion of the corners will be visible.
Then, grab a glass of wine, sit back on the couch, because you'll be there for a short while wrapping the yarn on all sides of the frame! I tied both ends and then got glue happy to secure it even more!
For the letter in the middle I found real cheap letters at Michael's and 39 cent paint. Cover the entire letter for a more finished look.
The original design had the letter hanging in the middle with more yarn, but I was sick of yarn so I had some left over decorative colored wire that I used to attach it. This part is all up to you. I thought it gave it a corkier look. Attach the letter to the frame.
The flowers on the side are optional and interchangeable as well to your own taste. I had some handmade fabric flowers that I wanted to use but I couldn’t find enough and got too lazy to make more! So these cute summery flowers worked just as great! Hot glue those suckers to the corner or to your liking.
I also had a handful of ribbon scraps my mom handed off to me laying around and thought that would be a cute idea to hang it.
Use your crafty intuition on this one! The possibilities are endless! With different colors and embellishments, you could make different ones for different seasons. This is my every day wreath!
