Spring Time Bird House Decor
The smell of Spring is in the air, sounds of birds chirping filling my ears and the sound of babies' giggles warm my heart. Since we don't get much seasonal change here in Florida, I decided to bring a little bit of nature indoors with these darling little bird houses. I added a little whimsy to them with patterned paper that compliments each other, as well as a little mossy birds nest to tone them down to feel more homey.
Supplies Needed:
Silhouette Cameo
Birdhouse Design ID #77791
Assorted Card Stock (colors and patterns of your choice)
Glue (I used hot glue)
Moss
Wooden Dowel
Additional Embellishments
Step One: Open Design and Cut Paper
1. Open the 3-D bird house design in Silhouette Studio
2. One by one, place each piece on the cutting mat board to cut appropriate paper
3. Send each design to Silhouette to cut
4. Continue until you have all pieces cut out
Step Two: Attach Bottom and Sides
1. Start by glueing the bottom and one side as shown
2. Glue the front of the birdhouse to those that are already glued
3. Repeat these steps with the other side and back of bird house
Step Three: Attach Roof
1. Add a strip of glue to the top of the house
2. Place roof on to attach
3. Secure the four corners of the roof with a small amount of glue
Step Four: Add Embelishments
1. Add a small amount of moss into the large circle using glue
2. Cut about an inch of wooden dowel and attach with glue to the small circle
3. Add any additional embellishments, as desired
Place on Counter and Enjoy Spring
This delightful Spring addition will bring a little charm to your home decor.
