Rustic Flower Vase
I always have a hard time trying to figure out what to make for my grandparents during Christmas. When I make my gifts I usually make the same thing for everyone, but make them a little different for my grandparents. This year I made everyone candles and decided to make these flower vases for my grandparents. I love the way they turned out and how easy they were to make.
I started with an empty white wine bottle (Voga Pinot Grigio - the bottle is nice and cylindrical). I only cut a small amount of the top of the bottle off so that the vase was still tall enough for flowers. I then wrapped the entire bottle with string, adhering it with clear tacky glue. Once it was all dry, I added some ribbon and burlap, a pre-made fabric flower, and some charms! I did hand stamp the charm with "I Love You" using my metal hand stamps.
I love the way these turned out and will be making more to place around the house. These are so simple to make, as you can customize them with any kind of rope, yarn, string, etc. If you don't want to use a recycled wine bottle, try using any shape and size bottle or vase.
